Elliot Friar (@elliot_friar), an Emerson College journalism student down in Boston, interviewed me for the Online Observer about running for office & serving in the Maine House. ![]() Elliot: "I recently interviewed an interesting young man who is unique for many reasons beyond being the youngest gay legislator in the country. At 22 years old, Justin Chenette, a representative in the Maine State House, has no time for the political game. After becoming involved with politics at just 16 years old, he quickly realized the problem. Nothing was getting done, and no one really cared to get anything done. Chenette became so infuriated with politics by his junior year of college that he decided to put aside his broadcast journalism career and run for office. Yes, he ran for political office while he was still in college."
