Below is what DOT sent me regarding the upcoming meeting and where we are at: Saco is seeking possible solutions to traffic congestion around the Route 112 corridor. Last month, the City launched a study designed to explore and evaluate potential solutions to the morning and evening congestion occurring on Route 112 and surrounding roads.
Previous analysis produced a range of short and long-term potential solutions, which included improving intersections and traffic signals, restricting turn movements, widening Turnpike ramps, or constructing a new road between the Turnpike and Route 112, among other ideas.

Justin Chenette of Saco, the Senate Democratic Lead on the Legislature’s Taxation Committee, released the following statement: “The latest announcement from the governor on tax conformity is both misleading and intentionally provocative. When Gov. LePage introduced his plan to completely rewrite the state tax code to favor corporations and the wealthy in February, the Taxation Committee got right to work to negotiate the best deal for Maine. A month before the statutory adjournment, lawmakers on the Legislature's Taxation Committee continued to get various changes, numbers, and analysis from the administration and their out-of-state consultants. |
