The City of Saco’s downtown development organization, Saco Main Street, has selected a familiar name as their new president. Justin Chenette, who represents the Saco area in the State Senate, has been voted by their board of directors to serve in the top role for the next year. “Downtown Saco is the place to be,” says Chenette. “I look forward to working with a great group of people to put on wonderful community events, promote all Saco has to offer, and support our small businesses to make this a vibrant place to live, work, and play." Chenette has served on the Saco Main Street board for the past 2 years and previously
served a year a half when the organization was known as Saco Spirit back in 2012. Saco Main Street is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, independent from the city that is designated as a Main Street - Maine Community by the Maine Downtown Center. The organization focuses on promotions and marketing, design and preservation, economic development, and volunteer organization to revitalize and improve Saco’s historic downtown area. The rest of the board officers include Stefa Normantas as Vice President, Bette Brunswick as Treasurer, and Bill Stanton as Secretary. Rob Biggs is the current Executive Director.
