I'm not necessarily opposed to a bill to somewhat curtail the availability of this information (realizing that there are some legitimate reasons for it to be made available though) but I do not think that an emergency situation currently exists for this bill to be considered in this manner.

Considering the reasons that a person would need a CWP, it is life threatening to share this information with the public.

Secondly, why register a CWP at all? Criminals are already registered with the FBI, therefore, a list of those who own guns or carry guns is not necessary, since anyone who is not a criminal can get a CWP.

It is as ridiculous as having a "non-sex offender" list. How many people would be on such a list? Millions. How would such a list be useful?
