City of Saco Media Intern
The City of Saco has tapped Justin Chenette for a media internship based on his previous experience in the field. After details were ironed out at a meeting with the City Administrator, Justin is set to produce a series of promotional videos showcasing a behind-the-scenes look at the different Departments within the City. Also Justin will be responsible for producing news packages to be seen on the City’s website, Facebook page, and the local educational station, TATV Channel 3, pertaining to prudent local topics. Justin joins a team of talented city interns from economics to waste management.
Project 1: Department Showcase This project will be a series of videos highlighting each of the departments of the City of Saco. It will be a behind-the-scenes look into what goes into effectively governing a small town like Saco.

Phases of Production:
Phase 1 ~ Coordination with department heads and planning/brainstorming the content of each video. Estimated completion date of June 1st.
Phase 2 ~ Tape interviews with each department head or primary representative of department. Estimated completion date of June 25th.
Phase 3 ~ Plan and tape b-roll (footage) to complement content in interviews. Estimated completion date of July 1st.
Phase 4 ~ Editing of interviews and footage into contained packages using Sony Vegas Editing Software. Estimated completion date of July 12th.
Phase 5 ~ Distribution of videos to numerous outlets including but not limited to: each individual corresponding department webpage using Saco’s YouTube Account, Saco’s Facebook, and TATV Channel 3. Estimated completion date of July 16th.
Project 2: The “Justin Chenette Reports” Series
This project will be a series of videos highlighting some newsworthy topics from around Saco including some of the many projects the city is working on. Each video will be a self contained news package.
Newsworthy topics include but are not limited to:
- Update on the $500,000 Trail Bond
- Update on the $2.3 million road bond
- Update on the $6 million fire station
- How Saco is using money from the Department of Transportation 15-town road fund
- Aspects of the Green Community: Motion sensing lights, LED vs. Regular Street Lights, and Eco-Maine vs. Recycling
- Why not Public Access in Saco? (investigative piece)
Phases of Production:
Phase 1 ~ Obtain information on subject/topic matter, coordination of people involved, and planning out the content of packages.
Phase 2 ~ Tape interviews with “go-to” person with b-roll (footage) of each individual.
Phase 3 ~ Tape footage of subject/topic involved.
Phase 4 ~ Editing of interviews and footage into contained packages using Sony Vegas Editing Software.
Phase 5 ~ Distribution of videos to numerous outlets including but not limited to: Saco’s news section on the website using Saco’s YouTube Account, Saco’s Facebook, and TATV Channel 3.
