Chenette Named 2010 Journalism Scholar 07/09/2010
The Guy P. Gannett Journalism Committee of the Maine Community Foundation has named Justin Chenette a 2010 Journalism Scholar. The committee was designated with the duty of discovering and assisting aspiring future journalists. Justin Chenette has been appointed to serve as a Board Supervisor of the Wildbrook Group. The Wildbrook Group is a media, philanthropic, and public service organization that overseas multiple initiatives and enterprises throughout Maine. Justin Chenette is usually known for his hard-hitting interviews with politicians and candidates, but now he can add public relations to his extensive resume. Recently, Chenette has been hired by several political campaigns including a current sitting State Representative and an independent gubernatorial candidate to incorporate his media background into their strategic plans. As a public relations consultant, Chenette assists candidates with debate and interview prep, media contacts, focusing the message, social networking, and any communications related advice. Chenette will be on board with the campaigns through the general election in November. Chenette produces new local TV show 06/07/2010
Justin Chenette is proud to once again partner with Biddeford Public Access to bring you the best possible programming covering news and politics. Set to debut this week is a brand new TV talkshow called “Political Pulse”. The show’s premise is to have a weekly discussion on the latest news coming from the campaign trail and from both the national and state capitols. Chenette will serve as both the host and executive producer. Check back for airing times. City hires Chenette to fill part time role 06/03/2010
The City of Saco has hired Justin Chenette to fill a part time role during the June 2010 primary election cycle. Chenette will be working side-by-side with the City Clerk to answer phones, assist with ward allocation, supervise ballot boxes, and run voter registration drives. Position starts Friday June 4th and runs through the end of the day on election day Tuesday June 8th. Remember to fulfill your civic duty and vote in the election. The City of Saco has tapped Justin Chenette for a media/PR internship based on his previous experience in the field. After details were ironed out at a meeting with the City Administrator, Justin is set to produce a series of promotional videos showcasing a behind-the-scenes look at the different Departments within the City. Also Justin will be responsible for producing news packages to be seen on the City’s website, Facebook page, and the local educational station, TATV Channel 3, pertaining to prudent local topics. This is a really neat job where I basically call alumni for 3 hour shifts and ask them for donations to the annual fund. I have been able to use my experience interning with the Maine Democratic Party where I made hundreds of phone calls surveying the public on political issues and candidates.
